TYPE PAIRING:

I put green dots next to the typefaces I felt represented a calming natural feel.

DETAILS:

Since I knew this logo design was including a illustration I did quick sketches of the general layout ideas so I had some thing to work of off.

ILLUSTRATIONS:

I then created and gathered some illustration elements.

LAYOUT:

Since I was using the tall cactus I thought more of a vertical layout would be best. I played around with the type and where it would sit.

Once I landed on a layout I liked I felt it needed more to it. I felt the illustration was so tall then the type was so wide horizontally and it needed more balance. So i added MOAB UTAH too help create balance.

I didn’t like the tension where I circled in green her so I used the pen tool to delete some of the oval shape.

COLOR:

I used the eye dropper to pull some natural color from this picture to start pairing into the logo.
